Frustrated with not being able to find a meaningful gift for a close friend, PYG founder Caroline had a breakthrough idea: 'An app where you could list all the things you'd love to receive, and your friends could simply browse and pick a gift from it.' She shared this idea with her husband and kids, who immediately saw its fun and practical potential!

Caroline had spent years working on plastic pollution, waste management and biodiversity issues, and she grappled with the idea that her app might contribute to excessive consumerism. However, after much reflection and discussions with her family, she realized that it could, in fact, reduce waste—by helping people choose the perfect, appreciated gift instead of a random present that might actually end up directly in the bin.

In Caroline's mind, PYG is just the beginning of the adventure. Her dream is to take it further to develop a twin platform dedicated to sustainable, ethical gifting.

'Sharing is caring'—a phrase Caroline's kids learned in kindergarten—perfectly embodies the joy and fun of what we've created. This isn't just another app to fuel consumerism; it's a way to connect with your friends and family and bring happiness to one another.

Mindful of the potential downsides of any kind of commerce, we are building into PYG a strong commitment to giving back. We support communities and NGOs dedicated to waste collection, reuse, and recycling, and those focused on rewilding areas affected by urbanization by planting trees and reintroducing biodiversity.
